Many thanks to the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel for sponsoring the wild food edible garden at the Ikhaya Garden in Khayelitsha. Loubie Rusch from Making Kos oversaw the planting of the garden with many of the local children taking part and learning about the magic of edible wild plants.
Uthando is mourning the passing of a great lady and dear friend, Mama Regina Mlindazwe 1942 – 2016. Uthando is passionate about supporting the seniors projects and we knew Mama Regina since 2008 when Uthando was started. Mama Regina was one of the seniors featured in the book “Abantu Abadala”. She was kind, loving, extrovert and a leader. She will be sorely missed.
Thank you to the One & Only for introducing Uthando to the AS Roma football player William Vainqueur. William volunteered for a week in Cape Town with most of the time being spent at the Greater Commission United Soccer Academy. William inspired the youth through his story, coached soccer and made a very kind and generous donation to support the work of GCU.
