Cape Flats Sports Academy is a dynamic non-profit organisation based in Cape Town, committed to uplifting underprivileged youth through the transformative power of sport. Based in the heart of the Cape Flats and established in 2016, the Cape Flats Sports Academy (CFSA) is more than just a training hub — it’s a movement for community upliftment and transformation.
With experienced coaches, dedicated volunteers, and a vision rooted in change, they’re helping young athletes unlock their full potential — both on and off the field. From grassroots coaching clinics in Hanover Park to international football tours, CFSA is changing lives, building future leaders and creating opportunities where they matter most.
Fundraising is currently taking place to build the Moeen Ali Sports Centre, a world-class sports complex on the Cape Flats with indoor and outdoor cricket training grounds, education and mentorship spaces and expanded facilities for netball, basketball and five-a-side football.
The building will be constructed entirely from recycled tires, plastic bottles, and sustainable eco-materials and the first sports centre of its kind globally, driving job creation on the Cape Flats and developing youth sports ambassadors for South Africa’s future, whilst tackling climate change and environmental degradation.
