Goal50 Edu Hub based in Heideveld, Cape Town, is a beacon of hope for the community which faces challenges with education, food-security, and special needs support. Phases 1 & 2 are now working to educate 30 children through the early childhood development programme, while feeding the community through the school’s feeding scheme. Phase 3 will see a library, a special needs classroom, and a skills-development centre take form, increasing the school’s capacity from 30 learners to 100 learners!
What is the draw card?
In total, the facility will be built out of 5 000 tyres, 12 000 plastic bottles filled with rubbish, 6 000 film-set waste bricks, glass bottles and other waste materials, ensuring that we reduce our carbon footprint during the build, while creating an environment that is ideal for educating youth about sustainable practices.
