Alex Cupido is a Cape Town-based social entrepreneur, community leader and founder of Bruinchild Media NPC, a non-profit organisation established in 2020 to empower young people through music, arts, culture and digital media.
Drawing on his own journey of resilience and transformation, Alex is committed to helping young people from under-resourced communities discover their purpose, develop their talents and pursue sustainable careers in the creative industries. Through mentorship, performance opportunities and industry connections, he works to address challenges such as youth unemployment, gangsterism, substance abuse and gender-based violence.
Under Alex’s leadership, Bruinchild Media has developed initiatives including the Aweh Cultural Showcase, which celebrates Coloured, Khoi and San heritage while creating a platform for emerging artists. His work is driven by the belief that creativity can restore hope, strengthen communities and transform lives.
