There, she spent eight years working in remarkable hotels, gaining experience, perspective, and a deeper understanding of people from all walks of life. But as with many journeys, there came a moment when it was time to return home to South Africa.
It was during this chapter that she met James Fernie. At the time, he was working in sales and marketing for Inspirational Places, while she was the client. Their professional relationship quickly grew, with shared travels overseas laying the groundwork for something far more enduring.
Four years later, she took a bold step and purchased Inspirational Places, while James set off on his own path—one that would go on to impact countless lives through Uthando South Africa.
Over the next 17 years, she built and led her business, while continuing to support James and his work where she could. What began as a professional connection, had by then become a 26 year friendship—one rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a deep belief in making a difference.
