Sinovuyo Seniors Club was established in May 2015 by the seniors themselves. Sinovuyo translates to “We Are Happy” in isiXhosa. The vision is to provide a daycare facility for seniors of Khayelitsha; the group consists of +- 30 members aged from 60 to 94 years and two volunteer aides. The group meets every day from Monday to Friday between 9 am to 2.30 pm to help support and provide care to seniors living in the area.

The main objectives of the organization are to see the elderly members of the community happy and active. The volunteers monitor each senior citizen’s health through healthcare workers, improve their well-being, and help overcome poverty through sustainable initiatives such as organic garden development led by Ludwe Qamata. The latter provides organic, fresh produce to the elderly in the Khayelitsha township.
