Goal50 is a Montessori style Early Childhood Development Centre based in the community of Heideveld, Cape Town. Heideveld This community faces many socio-economic challenges including a lack of quality early learning facilities. Goal50 is a beacon of hope & a catalyst for positive change set up for an intake of 100 children between the ages of 3-6. A vision which started in September 2022 has come to life in 2026 with Phase 1 being completed, and now the mission is to complete Phase 2 & 3! Call To Support We need to raise R7.5million rand for Phase 3 which will include a library, computer lab, more classrooms increasing student intake, & this creates even more jobs for the community. Goal50 ECD Uthando (Love) South Africa, the Natural Building Collective & Great Commission United are pleased to announce the completion of Phase 1 at Goal50 Early Childhood Development Centre in Heideveld! What is Phase 1? This phase encompasses two Montessori classrooms for early childhood development, ablution facilities, indoor and outdoor play areas & a kitchen. The Draw Card The facility has been built with incredibly durable, city approved waste materials including tyres filled with rammed building rubble, soda bottles filled with plastics, film-set waste bricks & glass bottles which have all been insulated with cobbing to provide temperature regulation and fire safety. Uthando is proud of the progress being made with our Pitches For Peace Initiative! We are on a mission to build 5-a-side soccer pitches at every school around South Africa! Why Soccer Pitches? These facilities provide safe & engaging spaces where children want to spend their time, and in doing so, they naturally learn a wide range of skills including: motor skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, & social-emotional skills while staying off the streets after school. The Draw Card These Pitches are built entirely out of Sustainably Sourced Materials including: tyre waste, plastic waste, glass waste, & film-set waste! We are cleaning the planet while impacting the lives of children around South Africa! On 18 January 2026, Uthando (Love) South Africa Ambassador Vicky Sampson delivered a heartfelt performance for the children of Hanover Park, filling the space with music, joy, and inspiration. It was clear to see that her performance was thoroughly enjoyed, with smiles and energy lighting up the day. A special shout-out to Bruinchild Media for organising the event, which also featured powerful performances by Michael Palmer and Kattie Musiek. In true community activist style, Vicky shared words of encouragement and support with the Hanover Park community.
