SEED (Schools Environmental Education and Development) is an award-winning non-profit and public benefits organization operating from Rocklands Primary School in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats, with a national scope to schools-based outdoor learning program and youth applied permaculture training, their work is rooted in the sustainable land design system of Permaculture. SEED offers three programs Resilience Training – a 15 week accredited skills program that covers Permaculture training, Personal and Household Resilience, Designing, Skills of Growing and Job Shadowing; Easy Peasy Enterprise – provides customers with top quality, seasonal and locally adopted seedlings and seeds and School Programs – curriculum and lesson plans in permaculture for schools, textbooks and training is aligned with the National Education system of South Africa and learning happen in outdoor classrooms.  

Resilience training has produces 424 graduates, 58% employment and the establishment of 16 enterprises; the Easy Peasy Enterprise program has created 10 jobs, 4546 seedling trays sold and have established their own seed bank. School program has graduated 1343 teachers, 56 748 learners impacted and 72 outdoor classrooms established nationally.
